Learn To Control & To Direct Your Own Personal Energy

Energetic Meditation is the practice of gathering and focusing the intrinsic energy of the body.  This is the same energy that acupuncture uses to restore balance and heal the body.  This energy is present throughout the body and circulates faster than the blood.  This energy can also be concentrated and sent to certain points of the body. This form of meditation can be easier to master than other forms which may take many hours of practice to achieve results.  There is no question about the efficacy of maintaining an internal mental silence for a certain length of time, but it can be difficult.  In Energetic Meditation there is a simple routine to assist with concentration.

There are three elements of Energetic Meditation that help with concentration and maintaining focus, one is the use of imagery and the second is the use of sensation.  A third element was developed, the use of ceremony.  The ceremony is non-religious and more akin to shaking hands or performing the Pledge of Allegiance.  Ceremonies will evoke a symbolic moment or mark a special occasion such as a graduation or the presentation of an award.

A ceremony for Energetic Meditation was developed that can be used when a large number of practitioners gather.  It is really nothing more than a guided meditation that takes about 20 minutes.

Of course, as with any meditation, it is particularly important to be completely relaxed.  So, before the guided meditation there will be a guided relaxation, or as we prefer to say, guided distension.  The guided distension consists of feeling the external parts of the body, the internal parts of the body and the head and brain.  Distension is achieved not by focusing on the tense parts but rather like a massage with mental strokes over the body to dissipate the tension.

Relaxation and increased concentration to some may sound contradictory but actually the reverse is true.  Anyone who has studied any martial art knows that you cannot move fast if you are stiff, you must be relaxed to move quickly.  The mind works in the same way, a relaxed mind can concentrate and focus faster than one that is filled with ideas and images.

The guided meditation begins with imagining a bright transparent sphere that descends down until it comes to rest in your chest.  As you concentrate on the image of the sphere in your chest it begins to attract energy from all over your body.  This may produce the sensation of a sphere in your chest.  As you concentrate on this sensation you may feel the sphere start to expand.

The expanding sensation of the sphere produces a feeling of energy in you.  You should know that this ceremony was developed long before the Star Wars movies and the feeling of this energy was named the Force.  As you expand the sphere beyond the limits of your body you will feel the Force produce a profound relaxation, a mental clarity, and an energy that is free of any edge or nervousness.

The last part of this ceremony is what is called the asking.  This part compliments the practices of the native peoples of the Americas who always give thanks to the abundances of nature.  We conclude the ceremony by asking for clarity in our lives.
